Who Are We?

We are Katie & Louis, husband and wife duo and owners of The Maples Estate. I’m an event producer and Louis is a project manager, and we also happen to be musicians - that’s actually how we met, operating a music and arts festival in New York’s Capital Region!

We love historic buildings, scrounging for antique and vintage pieces, renovating, designing and operating flawless events!

We often are asked: “How did you get into this”?

Honestly, we LOVE events!

Like I said, Louis and I met while operating a music festival and with my own career in operating large scale events, I knew I was ready for a more intimate and passionate landscape. After our own wedding in 2016 where we struggled to find a venue that allowed us to customize our wedding experience in a way that felt authentic to us, we knew a non-traditional venue was needed in our area. We searched for a year to find the perfect property where we could not just host weddings, but build a space that nurtured meaningful connections and significant, powerful, customized experiences. We bring the expertise of operating a wide range of projects and events to an intimate setting focused on YOU and your personalized wedding experience.

That also means we are up for whatever fun and exciting, relaxed, casual, traditional, non traditional, romantic or out of the box ideas you have for your wedding. We bring a calm, efficient approach to what may feel like an overwhelming or daunting process, and are never afraid to step outside the lines to build a wedding that is unique to you.

So, back to that question, how did we get into this? Through a curiosity to envision a different way of celebrating! A curiosity to get personal, to dive in the deep end and build something beyond the traditional wedding experience!

Hi, I’m Katie

I absolutely LOVE creating unique experiences that will last a lifetime. I’m a planner and a doer and I cannot help myself from dreaming up fun ways to make events unique and memorable while also running as smoothly as possible! I’m the one that makes sure every detail is set so you don’t have to. With a passion for event operations I have designed, facilitated and produced a wide range of events from weddings to large festivals, concerts, corporate events, conferences, block parties, craft markets, fitness programs, and seminars. Hi, I’m Louis

I am a personable project manager that loves to lend a hand wherever I can. I maintain this big property from mowing to weed whacking, tree maintenance and more. I am Katie’s right hand man during wedding weekends and help pull off epic weddings full of personality and creative spirit!

I am always there to move tables and chairs, transport your grandma from place to place, lend a hand to your vendors and make campfires that burn all night.

I am also a musician playing trumpet and accordion, and dabble in many other instruments for fun.

I love to meet new people!

Assistant Coordinators

Hi, I'm Pearl

I'm a marketing and communications professional who enjoys moonlighting in event coordination. During the day I work for a local nonprofit on everything from branding, PR, and design work to event planning. At the Maples Estate I'm here to help execute your vision and make sure the day goes smoothly. I love helping with the little details that make each wedding unique and special, and taking care of the logistics that mean that every wedding party can totally relax and enjoy themselves.

In my free time I enjoy watercolor illustration, quilting, and baking. I am also an avid equestrian and volunteer at local events when not competing with my Morgan mare, Velcro.

Hi, I'm Donna

I'm excited to be a part of your day! Whether it's guiding your guests throughout the estate, helping your photographer find the perfect shot, or putting the final touches on your reception decor, I'm here to help. With an eye for detail and a knack for problem solving, I'm committed to seeing that your wedding day is effortless and full of joy.

Outside of The Maples Estate, I run a small village library with my husband where I specialize in children's programming. I'm also a musician, a cat lady, and the mother of a little redheaded boy who loves Transformers.

Hi, I'm Lindsey

I am an Atlanta native who dove into the luxury hospitality industry at a young age. Once immersed, I fell in love with weddings and events while working at four Ritz-Carlton hotel properties. What I love most about being a wedding coordinator is turning someone else’s dream into a reality and seeing the the joy on everyone’s faces.

On the event day, you can find me setting up the venue, directing guests on the property and catering to our couples. In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants, traveling and spending time outside with my family.

Hi, I'm Kristin

I am so excited you are here. I am a meticulous problem solver and I want to ensure that every aspect of your special day aligns with your vision. I will use my creativity and keen attention to detail to ensure that your wedding day is as unique as you are. I look forward to helping get everything just right so that you and your guests make memories to last a lifetime.

When I am not helping at The Maples, I can be found spending time outdoors with my family. I also enjoy reading, sewing, and experimenting with DIY projects.

Farmhouse Keeper

Hi, I'm Sinjun!

The ghost who prepares this lovely home for your stay before your arrival! I'm a Minnesotan girl who has fallen in love with the Northeast and I have often been called "A Swiss Army Knife" by those who are closest to me. I'm excited to contribute to a space that will be a part of such an important weekend in your lives and to put together what I hope can feel like a second home during your stay.

When I'm not at the estate I can be found in the darkroom, renovating my home, or line dancing on the weekends.

Hi, I’m Maccabee

I am the cutest love bug that you ever could meet.

I LOVE giving tours of our property! It’s so fun to meet new people and give them all the licks. I’m sure to bring a smile to your face when you come for a visit with my humans and you may see me going for a walk around the property during your stay. If you do…come say hi!

I love that our property is home to so many wonderful people!

Wondering where we stay during wedding season?

We live in a bus!

Our Blue Bird skoolie allows us to be onsite for all your needs. Don’t worry, we are out of the way when you want your privacy, but just a step away when your event is underway so we can coordinate every detail and manage your timeline and vendors!

We even have a full kitchen, AC, heating and even a bathroom with a shower so we spend all spring, summer and fall in the bus. In the winter we move inside to stretch our legs and stay cozy all winter long in the 1855 colonial farmhouse.
